James M. Trice III MD MBA
PRACTICE
I have had over twenty years of experience as a practicing internal medicine physician, academic physician educator, medical director and concierge medicine specialist.
In 2001, I joined the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as a general internal medicine faculty physician.
In 2007, I was promoted and I accepted a position with the University of Miami Executive Medicine Program as a concierge medicine physician specialist to provide care to executives and business leaders of the South Florida area.
In the Fall of 2018, I was recruited to join Dr. Arthur Agatston, founder of the world-famous South Beach Diet, as a concierge medicine physician at the Agatston Center for Private Medicine. Since joining the Agatston Center for Private Medicine, my goal, quite simply, has been to have my patients “live better.” I want to provide my patients with guidance to help them achieve their optimal health.
EDUCATION + ACCOLADES
I graduated from an accelerated seven-year medical program at the University of Michigan where I completed both my undergraduate and medical school education. I then completed my internship and medical residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Following completion of my medical residency, I worked in Chinle, Arizona in the Indian Health Service providing care to the Navajo Native American people.
I held a faculty position as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for 17 years working as a general internal medicine faculty member providing care to patients as well as a physician educator to University of Miami medical school students. I received multiple teaching awards from teaching medical students at the University of Miami teaching hospital.
I am board certified in both Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine and hold an MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy from the University of Miami Herbert School of Business.
I am also privileged to have been elected by my peers for inclusion in the “Best Doctors in America” yearly since 2005.
